Know the Who’s Who of Meeting Planners and How to Connect with Them

July 7, 2015

Open the pages of printed or virtual hospitality industry publications, and you’ll see the faces of meeting planners who are changing the face of the industry. Take MeetingsNet, for example, which showcases this year’s Changemaker, Aynn Furie. Ms. Furie, the Senior Director of Global Meetings for Pfizer, has strategized, created, planned, and implemented up to 2,500 healthcare and internal meetings annually using budgets as high as $200 million. She works with staffs of up to 30 colleagues and 120 external contractors and plans for audiences of up to 4,500.

Hoteliers want to follow respected and desirable meeting planners such as Ms. Furie who work in the pharmaceutical market segment or other top market. These executives book valuable meetings around the world that can be key revenue drivers for your hotel.

The question is: How do you find these “changemakers?”

The beauty of Knowland’s technology suite is that it connects you with the contact information you want. Using Aynn Furie as an example, you can perform the following search in the Insight database:

  • Use the keyword search to search for “Pfizer”
  • Select the result for “Pfizer, Inc.”
  • Scroll down to the “Contacts” block, where you’ll see a list of planners associated with Pfizer
  • Select “Ms. Aynn Furie”

Here, on Ms. Furie’s profile, you can see her title, summary, contact information, and the date her information was last updated. With these results, you have everything you need to reach out with a warm lead.

You can run similar searches for other new executives who are changing the face of the planning industry. Professionals such as Linda Caradine, who was recently featured by Association Management Center upon being hired as an account executive in January, are promptly added to Knowland’s directory of contacts. Because the database is continuously updated to reflect recent prominent contacts for various organizations, you can find the most relevant information to help you prospect new business.

Give it a try: Current clients can login in on the Knowland site and run a search. If you would like further product training, register for an upcoming webinar.
