Meeting volume slows this week as summer season peaks
For the week ending August 5, 2023, the number of U.S. meetings and events decreased 10.4% compared to the prior week. Corporate events continue to dominate share volume with 56.3% of meetings and events, with National Associations driving the dominant industry share at 30.4% for the week, followed by the Education segment at 21.6%, for the top five segments.

The average number of attendees for the week was 78 (compared to 76 last week), while the average square footage used was 1,728 (compared to 1,636) per event, and square feet used per person held at 22.
The top five segments for the week were: National Association, Education, Charity/Non-Profit, Healthcare and Training/Education.
